HOW TIME FLIES

I’ve just logged on and can’t believe it’s nearly 4 weeks since I last posted. Stacey, Fiona and I have been absolutely flat out working day, night and weekends to try to bring the latest and greatest in scrapbooking to Ballarat.

We have added at least 7 new display stands to our store to try to keep up with all the new stock we have been ordering. Fantastic new shipments have been arriving daily including PINK PAISLEE, and GLITZ design, both newcomers to the scrapbooking industry this year, and oh so cool. The crafters companion and enveloper have also arrived, with examples of what these nifty products can do in store now.

Read on for the latest class calendar. Classes are proving to be a huge focus for customers at THE IMAGINATION FACTORY so much so that we are needing to repeat the same class twice, for 3 different classes already. We finally have details for you about our upcoming CAMERA/PHOTOSHOP class too, with limited vacancies still available.

CLASS SCHEDULE

SATURDAY 10^TH MAY   CAMERA/PHOTOSHOP CLASS

INSTRUCTOR:  Fiona Leehane

TIME:  11am to 4 pm

COST:  $80

DESCRIPTION:  Have you ever wished you had better quality photos to scrap with? If so, here’s the class for you. Not only is Fiona a great scrapper, but she has also studied photography at university, hence the amazing photos that most of you will have seen in her layouts. Lucky for us, Fiona has agreed to share her secrets to fantastic looking photos.

Part A:  Learn how to take professional looking photos on your own digital camera. Explore different camera settings and photo composition.

Part B:  Become familiar with photoshop using the store laptop projected onto a large screen. Bring along a single digital image on either a disc or memory stick to experiment with on the day, and print out your own before & after shots.

MONDAY 12^th MAY     STAR BOOK

DESCRIPTION:  Have fun making this cardstock based mini-book which when opened resembles a star shape from above. Boy theme with blue, red and white coloring and boy quotes.

WHAT TO BRING:  Approx 6 sml photos.

                                   Basic scrapbooking supplies, including paper trimmer, adhesives, etc.

WEDNESDAY 14thTH MAY   WORKING WITH ACETATE

DESCRIPTION:  Make a range of embellishments suitable  to use either on cards or on layouts , all with this fabulous product known as acetate. The possibilities are endless.

THURSDAY 15^th MAY   CANVAS CLASS

DESCRIPTION:  Whip up a creative storm, with canvas, paints, masking, photos, and maybe a little bit of fabric thrown in!

BRING:  one 4”x6” photo.

INSTRUCTOR:   Special guest teacher Jenny Crossley, who is a designer for the collections team and travels

DESCRIPTIONS:  Make a village of up to 20 tiny houses which are all individually covered, sanded, inked and embellished. Can be used as a stand alone decorative art piece or as smaller embellishments for scrapbooking pages or off the page projects.

Description: Decorate a pretty little white flip top tin with paper, flowers, ribbons and more and then take it home to keep all your secret stuff in.

SATURDAY 31st MAY    *** MELISSA FRANCES CLASS***

We are so excited to announce this very special CLASS, exclusively for The Imagination Factory customers.

For those of you who don’t know, Melissa Frances is an American scrapbooking designer who was diagnosed last year with breast cancer. After undergoing treatment, she designed a range of papers, titled THANKFUL, as a reflection on her experience. The Australian supplier of  this product is Bumble Bee Craft, a QLD company owned by Joy Kennedy.

Joy and her team have kindly offered to come all the way to the very chilly Ballarat (2degrees C at 8am today) to teach us 2 classes using Melissa Frances products. There will be a 2.5 hr class making an off the page project and also a 1.5 hr layout class. The classes will cost $15 and $10 respectively and all class fees will be donated to cancer research.

Class times will be available in store shortly. Places are limited, and will be confirmed only on payment of full class fee. This one is not to be missed.

DESCRIPTION:  Give your layouts that extra touch with stitching. Try out both hand and Machine stitching and decide for yourself which you prefer.

~Class Calendar and More~

After the huge success of our first 5 classes, we are excited to announce the release of our up coming monthly calendar of classes.

As our first 5 classes were taught to full capacity class groups (18 fantastically talented children in our Mothers Day Gift Class yesterday!), we now require a $10 deposit to confirm your booking in all classes. A minimum of 24 hrs notice is required if you are unable to attend. Your deposit will then be transferred to another class. Phone bookings may be paid for by credit card.

MID-APRILTO MID-MAY CALENDAR

FRIDAY 11th APRIL  -  CROP NIGHT.

TIME:  6pm to midnight.

COST: $10

DESCRIPTION:  Bring your own scrapbooking stuff with you, and scrap till your hearts content.  Catch up with old freinds or make some new ones. Not a lesson as such, but the team are available to help out as much or as little as needed.

MONDAY 14TH APRIL -  BEGINNER LAYOUT CLASS

DESCRIPTION:- Designed for the beginner to intermediate scrapper, Stacey will guide you through some basic techniques, including paper selection, punching, inking, embossing and more. Make a gorgeous 12x12" layout using the lovely new Lynden paper range.

WEDNESDAY 16TH APRIL - "MUM" MINI BOOK

INSTRUCTOR:- Tracey

TIME: -7.30PM-9.30PM

COST:  $30

BRING:  You will be using 6 photos measuring approx 2.5X3.5" each.A mum, family or love theme would be ideal. Photos may be colour, B&w, and either orientation is O.k. You will need to bring basic scrapbooking tools.

DESCRIPTION:  Make a pretty 4" square bound chipboard album using the Making Memories Noteworthy collection. A great gift idea for Mothers Day.

THURSDAY 17th APRIL - BOY LAYOUT CLASS

INSTRUCTOR:  Fiona

TIME:  7.30pm to 9.30 pm

COST: $25

BRING: Basic scrapbooking tools. 10 to 17  4X6" photos that you are happy to crop, some severely!

DESCRIPTION: A great DOUBLE layout where you will fit loads of photos cleverly on the two pages. Using the super cool COGSMO range, this one is sure to be a winner.

FRIDAY 18th APRIL - KIDS LAYOUT CLASS

INSTRUCTOR:  Tracey

TIME:  5.30pm to 7pm

BRING: 3 small photos, approx 4"X6"each. They need to have a similar theme so that they can be scrapped on the one page.

DESCRIPTION:  An exciting new class for our younger scrappers, aged 7 to 15. Come along and learn all the basics of scrapping and take home a finished funky 12"X12" layout.

SUNDAY 20th APRIL - SENSATIONAL SUNDAY CROP

TIME:  10am to 4pm

DESCRIPTION:  For those of you who can't make it to a FRI night crop or just can't wait 2 weeks between crops, this one is for you.

WEDNESDAY 23rd APRIL - CARD CLASS

BRING:  Basic scrapping tools if you have them.

DESCRIPTION:  Learn a variety of scrapbooking & papercrafting techniques as you create 3 handmade greeting cards for special occasions.

CLASS:  Pizza scrapathon

TIME:  12noon to 12 midnight

COST:  $20 includes pizza dinner. Afternoon or evening only is $10. (This doesn't include meal.)

BRING:  All your scrapping STUFF. For the diehards.

MONDAY 28th APRIL - BEGINNERS LAYOUT CLASS

BRING:  3 small photos approx 4"X6" each to be scrapped together on one page.

DESCRIPTION:  Learn a variety of scrapbooking techniques from our fab beginners expert, Stacey. Complete a 12X12" layout to take home to begin your collection.

WEDNESDAY 30th APRIL - CANVAS PROJECT

DESCRIPTION:  Get arty as Fiona explores painting and masks, while creating a unique decorative canvas to adorn your wall or desk.

FRIDAY 2nd MAY - KIDS PAPERDOLL PARTY

INSTRUCTOR:  Tracey

TIME:  5.30 to 7pm

COST:  $20

DESCRIPTION:  Children aged 7 to 15 will have fun making a paper doll dressed in a variety of groovy outfits. The doll can be incorporated into a layout at a later stage or used as a childs toy.

SATURDAY 3rd MAY - FAMILY FUN CROP

TIME:  10am to4pm

COST:  $5 per person

BRING:  All of your scrapping supplies.

DESCRIPTION:  Treat your crafty kids to some quality time with Mum. Just like a grown up crop but for the whole family.All children must be accompanied by an adult.

WEDNESDAY 7th MAY - CRICUT CLASS

INSTRUCTOR:  Tracey

TIME:  7.30 to 9.30pm

BRING:  Basic scrapping tools and adhesives.

DESCRIPTION:  Come to our first ever cricut electronic cutter class where you will learn the ins and outs of this snazzy machine. Then use your skills to complete a 12X12" layout. Receive your cricut "licence" on completion of the class, which entitles you to use the cricut free of charge at any crop or retreat.

THURSDAY 8th MAY  - PEEK-A-BOO BABY LAYOUT

INSTRUCTOR:  Fiona

TIME:  7.30 to 9.30

COST:  $25

BRING:  Basic scrapping tools and adhesives.

DESCRIPTION: The very talented Fiona, who is a current scrapbooking memories master , will show you how to make a goroeous baby/young boy layout using the brand new "animal crackers" range of papers. This layout includes a specially designed flap to add extra scrapping space to your layout and also just to add that extra dimension. Book early as spaces are limited.
